Risk Disclosure

Last updated: 2026-10-27

Using RIVO PRO means letting software lend for you on Bitfinex automatically. The risks below may reduce your returns or even cause a loss of principal. Please read them in full before use.

1. Exchange risk (most important)

  • Your funds are held at Bitfinex. If Bitfinex is hacked, becomes insolvent, freezes withdrawals, is sanctioned by regulators or restricts users in your region, you may be unable to recover your funds.
  • This has happened before: after the 2016 Bitfinex hack, all users' balances were reduced pro rata and compensated later in stages. RIVO cannot control or compensate such losses.

2. Borrower default and liquidation risk

Bitfinex funding borrowers are margin traders. In extreme markets, if a position cannot be closed in time, Bitfinex's protections may not fully repay lenders, and lenders may still lose money.

3. Rate and idle-fund risk

  • Funding rates are set by the market, change constantly and may stay low for long periods. Offers may not be taken and funds may sit idle.
  • Past yields, public performance and calculators do not mean you will get the same results.

4. Lock-up risk

  • Once an offer is taken, neither you nor RIVO can recall it before it ends (2–120 days, depending on your style and the market).
  • Borrowers may repay early; interest is then paid only for the days actually lent.
  • For money you may need at any time, choose the "On demand" style or keep it out of your funding wallet.

5. Stablecoin and exchange-rate risk

When lending stablecoins such as USDT, the coin may lose its peg to the US dollar. Converting returns to local currency also involves exchange-rate changes.

6. Software and network risk

The Service's code, servers or network may fail, and the Bitfinex API may rate-limit or fail. During such times RIVO may be unable to place or adjust offers. Existing loans are unaffected.

7. API key risk

A leaked API key may let others operate your account. Enable only read and funding permissions, never withdrawal, and set an IP allowlist.

8. Legal and tax risk

Rules on crypto assets and lending differ by country and keep changing. You are responsible for confirming that using the Service is lawful where you live and whether your returns must be reported for tax.

By ticking the box you confirm that you understand these risks and that RIVO is a lending tool, not an investment adviser, and does not guarantee returns or principal.
